Scenarios for the unmanned aerial systems use to solve the problems of mountainous areas development
Introduction. Sustainable development in mountain territories faces challenges due to complex terrain, limited access, and harsh climates. This paper explores Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) as a solution. Materials and methods. An engineering analysis and constructive design approach were used to develop UAS deployment scenarios for mountainous regions. Requirements for UAS subsystems were defined. Research tests, including flights in challenging conditions, validated the solutions. The core concept is a network of Universal Robotic Platforms/Stations (URP/URS) for basing UAS. Results. A framework for a distributed URP/URS network was developed, supporting various UAS types: VTOL fixed-wing aircraft, tethered multi rotors, and agile multi-rotors. Tests demonstrated successful medical supply delivery in adverse weather and reliable communication via tethered UAS relays. Principles for integrating UAS into monitoring systems were developed. Discussion. The integrated approach (various UAS, sensors, ground stations, robotic platforms, cloud processing) provides a comprehensive solution. Modularity, open interfaces, distributed architecture, and AI enhance adaptability and efficiency. UAS can improve logistics, monitoring, emergency response, and communication. Conclusion. Networked URP/URS-based UAS offer a promising path to sustainable development in mountain regions, addressing accessibility, safety, and economic opportunity. Resume. The article details scenarios and test results, proving the effectiveness of integrated UAS for mountain development. Suggestions for practical applications and directions for future research. Applications include environmental monitoring, infrastructure inspection, disaster relief, and improved communication. Future research should focus on the regulatory framework, autonomous navigation, energy efficiency, and AI-powered data analysis.
