Research of the impact of roadway track on the street-road network (SRN) of Vladikavkaz

Introduction. The safety of transport processes in mountainous regions is a critical concern, particularly in urban areas such as Vladikavkaz, located in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. The unique geographical and climatic conditions of mountainous terrains pose significant challenges to road safety, making it essential to analyze and address these issues effectively. Purpose of the research. The primary aim of this research is to analyze the safety of transport processes in mountainous areas, focusing specifically on the road network of Vladikavkaz. The study seeks to identify the factors contributing to road accidents and to propose measures for enhancing road safety through comprehensive monitoring and analysis. Materials and methods. The research employs a combination of engineering and geological studies to evaluate the condition of the road surface and transit highways. Data collection involved field surveys, traffic accident reports, and geological assessments to determine the geophysical characteristics of the roadway base. The methodology also included the identification of high-risk areas prone to the formation of ruts and other road hazards. Results. The findings indicate that the condition of the road network and transit highways significantly impacts the frequency and severity of road accidents in Vladikavkaz. Comprehensive monitoring revealed that timely identification of high-risk zones is crucial for preventing accidents. The study demonstrated that integrating engineering and geological research at the design and repair stages allows for a more accurate assessment of the roadway’s geophysical characteristics. The results underscore the importance of continuous monitoring and analysis of road conditions to enhance safety. The correlation between road surface quality and accident rates highlights the need for proactive measures in road maintenance and design. Additionally, the establishment of a systematic approach for the prompt transmission of information regarding high-risk areas to relevant services can significantly mitigate risks associated with transport processes. In conclusion, the research emphasizes the critical need for integrated engineering and geological studies in improving road safety in mountainous areas. The timely identification of high-risk zones and the implementation of effective monitoring systems are essential for reducing road accidents in Vladikavkaz. This study provides valuable insights into the safety of transport processes in mountainous regions, particularly in the context of Vladikavkaz. By analyzing the road network and identifying high-risk areas, the research contributes to the development of strategies aimed at enhancing road safety. Suggestions for practical applications and directions for future research. The results of this study can inform the development of recommendations for improving the design and operation of transport infrastructure under challenging climatic conditions. Future research should focus on the implementation of advanced monitoring technologies and the evaluation of their effectiveness in real time risk assessment for road safety.
