Abstract

As the demographic characteristics of the population have changed over the past decade, so have the characteristics of different population groups. Demographic changes largely reflect broader trends in the general population, and attention must be paid to the clinical needs of the aging population. The structure of research in the field of aging demography over the past two decades shows significant progress in our understanding of the health and well-being of older people. Equally interesting is that the basis for the next two decades of innovative research is a period of rapid growth in the elderly population. The aim of the work is to analyze the population of the Rostov region in dynamics from 2018 to 2023, taking into account the aging population. Materials and methods. The data for the analysis were obtained from the Federal State Statistics Service, the Government of the Rostov Region, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of the Rostov Region. Analytical note on the age and sex composition of the population of the Rostov Region. Results. The Rostov Region includes 29 urban settlements, including 23 cities, 12 of which form separate urban districts, and 11 are part of municipal districts. The urban population is 2820.7 thousand people. (67.7%), rural - 1343.8 thousand people. (23.3%). The population density is 41.2 people / km2.
