A PLATFORM FOR THE FORMATION OF COMPLEX AND UNIFORM DNA GEL USING VIBRATION-INDUCED LOCAL VORTICES
This study explored the preparation of complex but monodisperse DNA gels using vibration-induced flow (VIF) as a template mechanism.Specifically, we agitated two types of DNA nanostructures (Y-motifs) with orthogonal sticky ends (SEs) and another 6-arm motif to link Y-motifs by uniform localized vortices around the micropillars. This process hydrodynamically limits the amount of DNA motifs, thereby facilitating the formation of complex and homogeneous DNA condensates (Figure 1).This method is expected to produce a wide range of complex DNA gels by altering the sequences, SE length, and concentration ratios of DNA motifs.
