NON-INVASIVE TOOLKIT FOR SURVEILLING MOSQUITO PATHOGEN THROUGH EXCRETA

Our proposal seeks to utilize a novel mosquito trap design to aggregate and sample excreta directly from field mosquito populations for pathogen testing and discovery. The toolkit is predicated on the design of a superhydrophobic surface, to collect excreta from trapped mosquitoes for isolation of viral RNA and analysis via next-generation sequencing.
