COMORBID CONDITIONS IN HIV-INFECTION
The epidemiological situation of HIV infection still remains alarming. In the world, about 2 million people become infected with HIV every year, and half of all cases of infection occur in young people aged 15-24 years. There is an annual increase in the number of HIV-infected patients in Russia. As HIV infection progresses, the development of various comorbid conditions associated with both infectious agents and somatic pathology is observed. The number of patients with advanced stages of the disease who need highly specialized inpatient and palliative care is increasing annually in our country, HIV infection is the main cause of death of the young population. The article presents a clinical case proving that opportunistic infections (pneumocystis and cytomegalovirus pneumonia) are indicators of severe HIV infection. The data of the epidemiological history, clinical picture, laboratory results, treatment and autopsy data were analyzed. The severity of the condition in the observed patient was due to the progression of HIV infection due to the lack of antiretroviral therapy (and, as a result, the natural course of the disease was observed), as well as the development of opportunistic infections in the form of a mixed infection. The development of multicomorbidity, the progression of HIV infection, and low CD4 lymphocyte levels have become the main causes of the severe course of the diseasseverity of the condition in the observed patient was due to the progression of HIV infection due to the lack of antiretroviral therapy (and, as a result, the natural course of the disease was observed), as well as the development of opportunistic infections in the form of a mixed infection. The development of multicomorbidity, the progression of HIV infection, and low CD4 lymphocyte levels have become the main causes of the severe course oession.
