RISK FACTORS DETERMINING THE HEALTH STATUS OF STUDENTS (ON THE EXAMPLE OF PROF. V.F. VOINO-YASENETSKY KRASNOYARSK STATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY)

Close attention is paid to the health of the young population, especially in organized groups. At the same time, medical students are distinguished by increased literacy in relation to a healthy lifestyle, as the educational process teaches disciplines that study prevention measures for various diseases. We conducted a study to identify the relationship between the duration of study at a medical university (KrasSMU) and factors affecting the health of students. 1,021 students from the first to the sixth year of various faculties were surveyed. The questionnaire we developed included questions about the presence of bad habits, leisure activities, physical activity, food preferences and diet, related work activities, living conditions, and psychological factors. During my studies at the university, there have been positive and negative trends. The positive aspects include the change in demographic indicators (the number of student families is increasing, including those with children), the diet is improving (probably related to marital status), and the majority of students lead an active lifestyle. At the same time, there are a number of negative aspects: the number of students who drink alcohol is growing. Despite the fact that students, while studying at a medical university, are focused on health and disease prevention, nevertheless, they do not always fully apply this knowledge to themselves. It is important for the university administration to draw up an action plan aimed at motivating students to a healthy lifestyle and more actively implement a set of preventive measures for students.
