RAPID LAMP-BASED COLORIMETRIC MRSA DETECTION USING A MICROFLUIDIC SYSTEM INTEGRATED WITH ACCELERATED ELECTROPHORETIC NUCLEIC ACIDS PURIFICATION
We demonstrated a fully integrated sample-to-answer microfluidic system for methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) detection. This system can rapidly and accurately detect MRSA from just few microliters of serum sample. To be specific, it integrates multiple functions on-a-chip, including pathogen lysis, electrophoretic purification and loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) of DNA. The colorimetric detection result can be directly determined by naked eye at limit-of-detection as low as 100 CFU per reaction.
