PHARMACEUTICAL EXAMINATION OF A REMEDY BASED ON SEA WATER OF THE BLACK SEA

The healing effect of sea water has been known since ancient times and is a traditional component of spa treatment. Currently, sea water preparations are successfully used to stimulate immunity, normalize intestinal flora, treat allergies, pulmonary and other diseases, and therapeutic bathing in sea water is also actively developing throughout the world. The pharmaceutical market of the Russian Federation offers a number of drugs, medical products and cosmetics based on sea water or sea salt. Products with sea water available on the Russian market are mainly categorized as imported, despite the fact that our country has huge reserves of sea water, which can become a source of domestic preventive and therapeutic products. In this regard, the water of the Black Sea, rich in macro- and microelements in an optimal combination and ratio, is undoubtedly promising, which determines its physiological value and wide popularity as a source of health and well-being. One of the domestic products created on the basis of sea water from the Black Sea is the product "Magic of the Black Sea" of the company OOO Agro-Exim. The expansion of the application range of the product "Black Sea Magic" can be facilitated by conducting additional studies. In particular, it seemed appropriate to conduct a pharmaceutical assessment of the chemical composition and physicochemical properties of this product. The quantitative content of sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium cations was determined by atomic emission spectrometry on an atomic emission spectrometer with inductively coupled plasma ICP-OES Plasma 3000 (NCS Testing Technology). To assess the possibility of using cations in quantitative analysis, a study of their content in the composition of the product based on sea water was conducted by capillary electrophoresis using the device "Kapel-104T", OJSC "NPF Lumex", Russia). The quantitative content of hydrocarbonates, chlorides and sulfates was determined titrimetrically. Dry residue and pH were determined according to pharmacopoeial methods. A pH meter from Mettler Toledo was used to study pH. As a result of the study, information was obtained on the quantitative content of the main physiologically significant cations, anions and the physicochemical characteristics of the product based on sea water “Magic of the Black Sea”, which will further contribute to solving issues in the field of its standardization.
