Ultra-stable high refractive index materials driving universal waveguide performance
It is now well understood that high-index optical waveguides and combiners have enabled manufacturers to overcome critical technical obstacles and bottlenecks for next-generation XR displays. HRI materials give XR devices powerful advantages by expanding the field of view to create a truly immersive viewing experience. To date these improvements have been mainly focused on surface relief gratings using spin coating and nanoimprint lithography methods, however the field of waveguide technology has broadened. These now include various forms of holographic methods, and diffractive optical elements, all using a broad array of application methods, design configurations, and substrates. These developments, combined with demands for larger process windows, greater UV-stability, dramatically longer stamp life (in the case of NIL), and more robust efficiencies, all at a reasonable price point, require a broad product portfolio to satisfy these stringent demands. Pixelligent will present that by tuning the critical properties of its proprietary PixClear® nanocrystals, PixNIL® and PixJet® formulations, and its award winning PixCor® products, it has adapted its HRI technology platform to deliver products that can meet these broad and ever-evolving requirements.
