INVESTIGATING THE IMPACT OF STRESS, SNXIETY, AND SEPRESSION ON THE DEVELOPMENT AND POGRESSION OF GLOSSALGIA
The article is devoted to the study of the role of stress, anxiety and depression in the development and clinical course of glossalgia – a chronic pain syndrome in the tongue, often characterized by the absence of obvious organic causes. The study analyzes the data of patients with glossalgia in order to identify correlations between their psychoemotional state (the level of stress, anxiety and depression measured using appropriate validated scales) and the intensity and duration of pain. The purpose of this study is to study the relationship between mental factors (stress, anxiety, depression) and the development and course of glossalgia, to identify possible mechanisms by which psychoemotional factors affect the occurrence and course of the disease. Materials and methods. The methodology of the scientific study is based on the analysis of domestic and foreign literature in the eLIBRARY databases, basic and additional methods of patient examination were carried out (testing using the Anti-Pain program, computer testing on the HADS scale). Results and discussion. Clinical examination of patients with glossalgia included a comprehensive assessment of both the somatic status and the emotional-personal sphere. Correlation analysis revealed a statistically significant relationship between the level of stress, anxiety and depression, and the intensity/frequency of pain syndrome, which convincingly demonstrates a close interdependence between the psychological state and clinical manifestations of glossalgia. Patients characterized by higher rates of stress, anxiety and depression reported more pronounced and frequent pain symptoms, which emphasizes the role of psychoemotional distress in the pathogenesis and perception of pain in glossalgia. The use of the HADS scale made it possible to state significantly higher levels of anxiety and depression in the study group of patients compared to the control group, which indicates the importance of using HADS as an effective tool in diagnosing and assessing the psychological component of glossalgia. Conclusions. The use of psychological methods in combination with drug therapy can help improve the effectiveness of treatment and reduce the duration of the disease. It is important to emphasize that it is necessary to take into account the individual characteristics of the patient and select psychological methods in accordance with his needs and clinical picture.
