Children and adolescents in the reports of the Human Rights Commission of the Chamber of Deputies (Brazil – 1990)
Since the beginning of the Brazilian democratization period, the Chamber of Deputies has acquired a new status, gradually accepting the demands of the most vulnerable populations. The Human Rights Commission of the Chamber of Deputies was created in 1995, based mainly on the guidelines of the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action. In this article, we analyze the main complaints of human rights violations received by the parliament in the area of children and adolescents in the 1990s, as well as the paths proposed by federal deputies for addressing social problems at the time.
