The problem of weight loss in freestyle wrestling
This article shows that nutritional regulation of the body is of great importance for sports practice. Naturally, this problem primarily attracts the attention of athletes participating in competitions with regulated weight gradations (mas-wrestling, boxing, weightlifting). Freestyle wrestling is no exception. It is known that the absolute strength of athletes of the same training is greater, the greater the athletes' own weight. Since the factor of its increase is the increase in muscle mass. In order to have an advantage over their rivals in demonstrating relative strength, athletes strive to compete in a lighter weight category. One of the easiest ways can be to reduce body weight. However, this path does not always lead to the desired result. The accumulated experience of weight loss in sports where there are weight categories, in our opinion, cannot be mechanically transferred for use by athletes in freestyle wrestling after changes in the rules of competition. It is necessary to develop your own weight loss technique taking into account the changes in the conditions for weighing athletes. Every athlete should regularly monitor their weight, weighing themselves naked in the morning on an empty stomach (after emptying their bowels); weighing themselves after morning physical exercises (warm-ups); after each workout; and before going to bed. Only taking into account the dynamics of body weight during the day can guarantee an individual approach when developing an effective weight loss technique. Maintaining the required body weight is of great importance when preparing an athlete for competitions, because only choosing the optimal way to reduce body weight will ensure maintaining high competitive performance and achieving a high sports result. Therefore, the problem of regulating the body weight of wrestlers while maintaining high performance is currently relevant.
