Study of Direct Torque Control with Reference Flux Vector Calculation for Position Sensorless IPMSM Drives with High-Frequency Signal Injection

This study verifies that high-frequency (HF) signal injection method for position sensorless control can be applied to interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) drive with reference-flux-vector-calculation-based direct torque control (RFVC DTC). There are many reports of position sensorless IPMSM drives with several DTC scheme combined with HF signal injection method. However, the drives with RFVC DTC has not been reported yet. This paper clarifies that RFVC DTC can be also combined with HF signal injection method for position sensorless IPMSM drives as well as other DTC schemes. Simulation and experimental results validate the position sensorless IPMSM drive with RFVC DTC.
