A 36-pulse Thyristor Hydrogen Converter Based on a Nine-phase Phase-shifting Transformer
In order to effectively reduce the input current THD and output voltage ripple of the hydrogen converter, in this paper, a 36-pulse thyristor hydrogen converter based on a nine-phase phase-shifting transformer is proposed, which comprises a nine-phase phase-shifting transformer, two nine-phase half-wave thyristor bridge rectifiers, a single-phase auxiliary thyristor rectifier and a modified inter-phase reactor. The modulation of the auxiliary single-phase thyristor rectifier can increase the pulse number of the rectifier from 18 to 36, effectively suppressing the output voltage ripple and the harmonics of the input current. This method is different from the existing pulse multiplication methods and it increases the pulse number of the rectifier through the single-phase auxiliary thyristor rectifier on the DC side, which has the advantages of simple structure, easy implementation and low cost. The simulation model of the proposed hydrogen converter was built using Saber software, and the simulation verified the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
