An Open-Circuit Fault Diagnosis Method for Single Switch of Controlled Rectifier in Doubly Salient Electromagnetic Generator System
Fault diagnosis is key technology to improve the reliability of doubly salient electromagnetic generator (DSEG) system with controlled rectifier. Open circuit of switches will decrease system efficiency, and even cause the secondary damage to the motor. So far, there has been no research that can be applied to open-circuit fault diagnosis in DSEG system with controlled rectifier. In order to solve this problem, a method based on bus current is proposed for controlled rectifier. Firstly, fault detecting is realized by the characteristics of bus current. Then, the fault location is realized by injection of test pulse. The proposed method can realize the open-circuit fault diagnosis of single switch without additional costs and changes of rectifier topology. Finally, fault simulation experiments are implemented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
