A Facile Synthesis of Co-Doped ZnO/rGO Nanomaterials for Energy Storage Applications
In response to growing concerns about global warming, researchers are increasingly focused on finding sustainable and energy-efficient solutions, particularly in the field of modern energy storage systems. One promising approach is the development of nanostructured electrode materials that offer improved power and energy densities. In this study, a novel cobalt-doped zinc oxide-reduced graphene oxide nanomaterial was synthesized for use in energy storing devices. The electrochemical investigations revealed that the material has a specific capacitance of 121.8 farad per gram, an energy density of 54.8 watt-hours per kilogram, and a power density of3241 watt-hours per kilogram at 0.1 ampere per gram. Notably, after 500 charge-discharge cycles at a high current density of 5 ampere per gram, the hybrid material preserve 95 percent of its initial capacitance and achieved a significant columbic efficiency of 85 percent. These findings suggest that hybrid materials hold significant potential for enhancing performance in energy storage technologies.
