Secondary-Fault Diagnosis of a Rotating Rectifier in a Three-Stage Starter-Generator Based on the Idle Winding Terminal Voltage
Based on the stator idle winding terminal voltage of the main exciter when the system works in generation state, a diagnosis method for secondary faults in the rotating rectifier when a single diode has failed in an open-circuit is proposed. In this method, secondary-fault diagnosis of rotating rectifier is achieved by combining the characteristic voltage ratio R and the number (denoted as Q) of values among voltage ratio R<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">I</inf>, RIIand RI11 that fall within the threshold range. The experimental results validate the feasibility and effectiveness of this method.
