Enhancement Method for Hosting Capacity of Distribution Network Through Utilizing Flexible Resources
As a flexible resource, the increasing deployment of distributed photovoltaics (PV) has altered the power flow in the distribution network, raising the risk of voltage violations while presenting higher demands for the power system's operational flexibility. To address the problem, this paper proposes an assessment method for PV hosting capacity in distribution networks considering chance constraints. Firstly, probability distribution models for distributed PV and load are established respectively based on the features of distributed PV and load uncertainty. An assessment model of PV hosting capacity is constructed by considering the chance constraints of node voltage and line transmission capacity. Then, the optimization model is transformed into a mixed-integer programming model using sample average approximation and Value-at-Risk (VaR) methods. Finally, a simulation analysis using the IEEE 33-node and 118-node system is conducted to confirm the effectiveness of the suggested method.
