Detection of Slot Discharges by Using On-Line PD Monitoring System With a Non-Contact Sensor
Detection results of dynamic slot discharges caused by vibration of a coil/bar in a core slot are described and studied in this paper. The obtained phase resolved partial discharge (PRPD) pattern and Qmax of dynamic slot discharges show unique features. This finding contributes to detect highly hazardous dynamic slot discharges and avoid unscheduled outage of the electric rotating machines and the plants.
