A Second-Order Cone Low-Carbon Optimal Dispatch Model Considering Electric Vehicle Grid Interaction and Battery Life Degradation
The worsening energy crisis and increasing concerns over climate change are prompting major shifts in the ways energy is both produced and consumed worldwide. This research develops an optimal low-carbon dispatch model tailored for power systems, incorporating factors such as vehicle-to-grid integration with electric vehicles, degradation of battery life cycles, and aggressive peak load reduction for thermal power plants. The model is built upon a second-order cone relaxation for optimal power flow. A novel fairness constraint is introduced in this work to mitigate disparities in the degradation of electric vehicle life during dispatch operations. The validity of the model is confirmed using a case study based on the PJM 5-bus system.
