A Novel Magnet Reversal Motor (MRM) Driven by High Pulse Current for Copper Loss Reduction

This paper presents a novel magnet reversal motor (MRM) which is driven by high pulse current. A basic concept based on conventional permanent magnet machine shows great cupper loss reduction, and a real machine based on single phase flux switching machine is made and is demonstrated. Some experimental results show the proposed machine can output the torque by adding the pulse current with the copper loss reduction.

Abstract

This paper presents a novel magnet reversal motor (MRM) which is driven by high pulse current. A basic concept based on conventional permanent magnet machine shows great cupper loss reduction, and a real machine based on single phase flux switching machine is made and is demonstrated. Some experimental results show the proposed machine can output the torque by adding the pulse current with the copper loss reduction.
