A Loss Minimization Dynamic-Static Transition Control Strategy Based on Model Predictive Current Control for IPMSMs

In this paper, a loss-minimizing dynamic-static transition control (DSTC) strategy based on model predictive current control (MPCC) is proposed for interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSMs) used in aerospace. Firstly, this paper achieves the loss minimization control using a modified Newton method based on lookup tables. Secondly, this paper proposes a DSTC strategy that compensates the d-axis current to overcome the drawbacks of the traditional loss minimization control in terms of insufficient torque output and poor dynamic performance during the dynamic process. To ensure that the motor operates at the loss minimization point, MPCC is employed to optimize the current following effect. Simulations are designed to verify the superiority of the proposed strategy.
