Vibration Control for Flexible Steel Plate During Magnetic Suspension: Suppression of Two-Degree-of-Freedom Vibration by Edge Supported System
In the surface treatment process of flexible steel plates, rollers are used for conveyance. The rollers are in contact with the surface-treated flexible steel plates during transport, which causes surface degradation. For this reason, a magnetic levitation system for flexible steel plates using electromagnets has been studied. The control system proposed in the past only considered horizontal movement. Although levitation was confirmed with that system, it did not provide enough levitation stability to be put into practical use. The reason for this is thought to be the large influence of elastic vibration of the flexible steel plate. In this study, a control system was developed to improve levitation stability, and levitation characteristics were examined.
