Solution Analysis of Optimal Reactive Power Flow Considering Voltage Constraint Variation

Optimal reactive power flow (ORPF) analysis is an irreplaceable component of high quality and economic electric power supply. However, as a vital parameter of ORPF model, the flexibility of voltage constraints is ignored in traditional analysis. Accordingly, this research analyzes the impact of voltage constraint variation and introduces some explicit concepts of ORPF solutions. Based on a given active power dispatching mode, ORPF model is established with the object of minimized active power loss. By adjusting the lower limit of voltage constraints, three types of ORPF scenarios are proposed, and variation of dual factors are discussed to indicate optimization information of three scenarios. 3-bus system and IEEE 30-bus test system demonstrate the performance and value of the proposed theory.
