Regulation Intensity of Hydropower Plant Under Different Scenarios of Renewable Energy Volatility: A Preliminary Analysis
In recent years, renewable energy has gained more attention, and an important research topic is how to integrate it safely and efficiently into the power system. This work focuses on the regulation intensity characteristics of large, complex hydropower systems in the controlled operation of hydro/wind/photovoltaic hybrid power generation systems. In this study, the second time-scale wind and solar power scenarios are generated based on the power spectral density. Then a nonlinear hydropower system model was introduced for numerical simulation. The Analytic Hierarchy Process is used to establish an evaluation system for the regulation intensity of hydropower plants. Finally, quantitatively analyze the influence of wind and solar volatility on the regulation intensity of hydropower plants. The results show that for every 1 % increase in wind and solar volatility, the regulation intensity of hydropower plants increases by 0.13% to 0.81%.
