Impact of Renewable Energy on Transient Stability of Multi-area Long-chain Sending-end Network
With the increasing renewable energy integrated into power systems, its transient stability problem becomes much more complex when the renewable energy enters into the low voltage ride-through (LVRT) state. In this paper, a new multi-area sensitive indicator is proposed to analyze the impact of renewable energy on the transient stability of the long-chain sending-end networks. Firstly, the transient power angle stability and voltage stability are analyzed based on a simple long-chain power network with wind energy integration. In order to explore the influence of the wind farm location and capacity, a new multi-area sensitive indicator is introduced, which is defined as the increment ratio of voltage angle and the active power. To verify the viability and adaptiveness of the sensitive indicator, a three-area long-chain system is built based on the PSASP platform, and the impact of wind energy location and capacity on the system stability is simulated as well. This method can be a solid foundation for the secure and stable operation of real power systems.
