Robust Deadbeat Predictive Current Control for High-Speed Synchronous Machine Sensorless Drive with Instant Inductance Identification

Although the deadbeat predictive current control (DPCC) is distinguished for its dynamic performance, the robustness will be challenged when parameter mismatch (PM) occurs. In position-sensored applications, the parameter-robustness problem is solved by estimating and compensating the PM as the total disturbance. But for sensorless cases, without the real rotor position, the PM disturbance is mixed with back electromotive force term which is inseparable and will affect the position estimation in return. As a result, parameter identification arises as a promising approach. However, the current control could oscillate or crash in ten milliseconds with PM, which means the traditional detection and identification process is untimely. To deal with the PM for DPCC of the high-speed sensorless drive, the instant inductance identification is proposed where the currents and voltages of adjacent control steps during dynamic are utilized. Consequently, the parameter-robustness of the DPCC is guaranteed. Above theories are validated by experiments.
