High-Performance Starting Control Strategy for Switched Reluctance Starter/Generator
The problem of excessive machine torque ripple inherent in the starting process of switched reluctance starter/generator can cause damage to the engine shaft. To address this phenomenon, an efficient direct instantaneous torque control strategy based on pulse width modulation is proposed. The duty cycle calculation strategy is formulated according to the outputs of different phases during the phase change, which reduces the torque ripple and improves the system efficiency at the same time. The results show that the strategy can successfully realize machine starting and effectively suppress the torque ripples during the starting process, reduce the damage to the engine shaft caused by the inherent torque ripples of the starter generator problem during the starting process, and realize high-performance starting of switched reluctance starter/generator.
