Homopolar Bearingless Slice Motor with Single-Phase Suspension Windings
In this paper, the concept of stator permanent magnet slice motor flux-switching type topology family is proposed, and the proposed design based on novel single-phase suspension windings that similarly generate sinusoidal magnetomotive force(SMMF) for suspension controls. Based on topology family simulation results, 12/4 configurations are selected by combining the stiffness, load carrying capacity and output performance. Subsequently, the mechanical parameters of the 12/4 configuration are optimized to quantify the magnitude of the levitated output force and the torque pulsation. Finally, for the levitation winding, a single-phase levitation winding is adopted, which briefly proves to be the same as the three-phase levitation in terms of small total number of turns, small inductance and low heat generation, and the feasibility of the single-phase type is verified by finite element simulation.
