Proposal for Estimation of Modal Damping Ratio in Electromagnetic Bone Conduction Devices

Bone conduction devices transmit sound by vibrating bones. As a result, the devices allow the deaf and hearing impaired to hear sound even in noisy environments. The devices are attracting renewed attention as a next-generation device. In the current research efforts, the large error between measurement and analysis results has become a problem. Therefore, this paper focuses on the modal attenuation ratio, which is set during the analysis, and estimates it.

Abstract

Bone conduction devices transmit sound by vibrating bones. As a result, the devices allow the deaf and hearing impaired to hear sound even in noisy environments. The devices are attracting renewed attention as a next-generation device. In the current research efforts, the large error between measurement and analysis results has become a problem. Therefore, this paper focuses on the modal attenuation ratio, which is set during the analysis, and estimates it.
