Research on Design and Electromagnetic Characteristics Analysis of Super Premium Efficiency (IE4) Permanent Magnet Assisted Synchronous Reluctance Motor for Rare Earth Permanent Magnet Reduction

This paper proposes using ferrite permanent magnets in PMa-SynRM to reduce the reliance on rare-earth magnets in PMSM. To reduce the reliance on rare-earth magnets, the loading ratio was adjusted by rotor sizing, and a small amount of rare-earth magnets was used to meet the required specifications. First, the electromagnetic characteristics of the V -shape IPMSM (rare-earth PM) and the ferrite PMa-SynRM with a small amount of rare-earth PM were compared. Next, demagnetization analysis was conducted to ensure a robust design against irreversible demagnetization caused by faulty currents and faulty control conditions. Stress analysis was then performed to ensure the structural safety of the bridge and ribs. Finally, the test results of the basic model, V -shape IPM, were compared with the FEA. The test values were then predicted using the FEA results from PMa-SynRM to obtain the validity of the results.

The test values were then predicted using the FEA results from PMa-SynRM to obtain the validity of the results.
