A Reference Flux Calculation Method Using Local Search Algorithm for Maximum Efficiency Operation in Direct Torque Controlled IPMSM Drives

This paper proposes a reference flux linkage calculation method for realizing maximum efficiency operation in direct torque controlled interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) drive systems. The proposed method minimizes the input power of IPMSM with using a simple local search algorithm. The proposed method does not use IPMSM parameters such as <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$d$</tex>- and q-axes inductances, therefore, the proposed method is robust to parameter variations and model mismatches due to magnetic saturation. Simulation and experimental results validate the proposed method.
