Optimization Study of Torque in the IPMSM for E-Bike Application
Due to the competitive performance of interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSMs), they are widely applied in the high torque density and high efficiency applications such as the electric bicycles (E-bikes) field. On account of air reluctance, the IPMSMs have the problem of high torque ripple, which will further aggravate the vibration and noise of the motor. The work compares three different topologies of IPMSMs to meet the requirements for E-bike, and also has an in-depth analysis their electromagnetic performance. In addition, this paper studies optimal design method with auxiliary slots, for effectively reducing torque ripple based on the competitive spoke model.
