Research on the Optimization of Power Density and Its Influencing Factors of the YASA Motor
This paper discusses the effect of the size of the motor on the power density of the Yokeless and Segmented Armature (YASA) motor for electrified aircraft under different operating conditions. Firstly, the main factors affecting the power density of the YASA machine are analyzed by the sizing equation. Then, the parametric model of the YASA motor is introduced, and the response surface model of the YASA motor is established. Finally, a Genetic Algorithm is used to optimize the motor under different working conditions and diameters, and all the optimization results are verified by the finite element analysis (FEA) method and the influence of the size on the power density is revealed.
