Small-Signal Stability Analysis of Offshore Wind Farm Integrated Grid-Forming MMC-HVDC
Multilevel converter-based high-voltage direct current transmission (MMC-HVDC) has gradually become the mainstream trend for offshore wind power grid connection. The small disturbance instability problem may be caused when MMC-HVDC with grid-following control is connected to large-scale new energy sources. The above problems can be solved by MMC-HVDC with grid-forming control. Offshore wind farm integrated Grid-forming MMC-HVDC model is developed in this paper. The effect of grid-forming control parameters on stability was analyzed by the eigenvalue method. Finally, the improvement of system stability by the grid-forming control is verified.
