An Improved Torque Ripple Minimization Pulsewidth Modulation for Induction Motors Under Low Carrier Ratio
Due to switching frequency limitations, mitigating low-order harmonic pulsating torque is crucial in high-power motor drives operating at a low carrier ratio. This paper focuses on reducing harmonic torques in induction motor drives, particularly in scenarios with low pulse numbers. An improved torque ripple minimization pulsewidth modulation (TRMPWM) strategy is proposed to achieve this. In this approach, optimization objectives for the switching angles are set to achieve effective suppression of low-order harmonics. The constraint objectives have been optimized to address the limitations of traditional methods. The effectiveness of the proposed strategy is validated through simulations, demonstrating its potential to reduce torque ripple and improve the current quality of induction motors. This advancement offers a practical solution for reducing noise in a range of industrial applications.
