Effect of Primary Iron Core on Performance Characteristics of Linear Switched Reluctance Motor with High-Temperature Superconducting Excitation Windings
This study shows the effect of the presence or absence of a primary iron core on the performance characteristics of a linear switched reluctance motor with a high temperature superconducting excitation winding. First, HTS coils are fabricated and the voltage-current characteristics of the HTS coils alone are measured. Next, experimental machines with HTS excitation windings with either iron-core or air-core are built respectively. The current-carrying characteristics of each HTS excitation winding will be measured to clarify the influence of the magnetic field distribution on the voltage-current characteristics of the HTS coil. Measure losses and clarify the breakdown of losses.
