Five-Phase PMSM Fault-Diagnostic Strategy Based on Symmetrical Component Method for Weak Inter-Turn Short-Circuit Fault
This paper proposes a fault-diagnostic strategy based on the symmetrical component method for the weak inter-turn short-circuit fault which is more likely to occur during the actual operation of the five-phase permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs). Based on the proposed strategy, the fault characteristics of the machine under weak inter-turn short-circuit fault are obtained. The effects of diagnostic strategy based on different fault characteristics are studied. The influence of changes in working conditions on diagnostic strategy is analyzed. The second harmonic of the negative sequence current is selected as fault characteristics.
