Magnetically Controlled Shunt Reactor Configuration Method Based on Single-Infeed Renewables-Integrated Effective Short Circuit Ratio
With the large-scale of renewables integration and the increase of DC transmission power, The strength of the receiving-end power grid is severely weakened. Therefore, addressing voltage stability issues in AC/DC hybrid systems of renewables integration has become a current research hotspot. Static reactive power compensation devices play a crucial role in enhancing the operational characteristics of weak AC systems. A magnetically controlled shunt reactor (MCSR) configuration method based on single-infeed renewables-integrated effective short circuit ratio (SRESCR) proposed in this paper. Firstly, a single-infeed system model of renewables integration is built, and the short circuit ratio considering the influence of DC infeed on renewables is proposed. The impact of MCSR on this short circuit ratio is then examined, leading to the formulation of the SRESCR indicator. The objective function is set to minimize the MCSR configuration capacity, enabling optimal reactive power allocation using SRESCR. Finally, the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed method are validated through the analysis of the PSD-BPA in an improved IEEE 39-bus system.
