A Study on Slot-Pole Combinations of Slit Stator Motors

This paper investigates the effect of stator slitting on the performance of fractional-slot concentrated winding motors for various slot-pole combinations. Optimal slot-pole configurations that benefit from stator slitting are theoretically and numerically identified. The findings suggest that stator slitting can significantly enhance motor performance by optimizing the harmonic effects in specific configurations, highlighting its utility in permanent-magnet motor design.

Abstract

This paper investigates the effect of stator slitting on the performance of fractional-slot concentrated winding motors for various slot-pole combinations. Optimal slot-pole configurations that benefit from stator slitting are theoretically and numerically identified. The findings suggest that stator slitting can significantly enhance motor performance by optimizing the harmonic effects in specific configurations, highlighting its utility in permanent-magnet motor design.
