Research on Multidimensional Comprehensive Assessment Index of Power System Under Extreme External Disasters

Current power grid assessment indexes should be improved to better ensure power supply. Indexes can be used to predict power interruptions, as well as to ensure power to critical areas. Therefore, assessment indexes should be more emphasized and studied. In this paper, power grid security operation assessment indexes are summarized and analyzed in a more comprehensive way. These indexes combine multi-dimensional grid operation variables to provide a more accurate view of grid operation. In addition, indexes proposed in this paper were simulated and validated of typhoon disaster on the IEEE 33 system. The simulation results show that the hazard degree of the disaster on the power grid can be reacted by these indexes. Furthermore, the power grid can be guided in operation by multidimensional indexes.
