Research on Wireless Power Mutual Replenishment System for Dual Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Based on Runway-type Relay Coil in Ground-Side

The Wireless Power Transfer technology enhances the flexibility of energy replenishment for electrical devices such as drones. In order to further improve the energy mutual-aid capabilities among multiple drones, this paper presents a dual Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Wireless Power mutual replenishment system based on runway-type relay coil in ground side. The magnetic coupling mechanism consists of circular transmitting/receiving coil and runway-type relay coil. This paper begins with a modeling and analysis of the system's topological structure and magnetic coupling mechanism. Subsequently, the mutual inductance characteristics and their parameter effects are calculated, and also determines the power and efficiency properties of the system based on the mutual inductance characteristics. The simulation results show that the mutual inductance fluctuation of the proposed magnetic coupling mechanism is less than 10% in the elliptical region of 0.2m*0.1m. The system has an output power of 180W and 85% efficiency in normal operation, and the load power and transmission efficiency decrease while load impedance increases.
