Loss Evaluation of Three-Phase Inverter Driven Two-Phase PWM Scheme at High Switching Frequency

The use of inverters based on wide bandgap semiconductors has achieved even high speeds in inverters. As a result, the ratio of switching losses in the inverter increases. Therefore, we drive an inverter based on GaN, one of the wide bandgap semiconductors, using a two-phase PWM scheme, which is considered to be effective in reducing switching losses, show that it is effective in reducing switching losses even when the switching frequency is increased to 1 MHz.

Abstract

The use of inverters based on wide bandgap semiconductors has achieved even high speeds in inverters. As a result, the ratio of switching losses in the inverter increases. Therefore, we drive an inverter based on GaN, one of the wide bandgap semiconductors, using a two-phase PWM scheme, which is considered to be effective in reducing switching losses, show that it is effective in reducing switching losses even when the switching frequency is increased to 1 MHz.
