Sensorless Control Strategy of Remote Area Autonomous PMSG-Based Microgrids for Improving Redundancy
The traditional permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG)-based wind power systems only rely on position sensor for obtaining the speed and position information to control the machine-side converters. However, under the remote area harsh working conditions, the sensors may suffer from maintenance difficulties and malfunctions. This paper proposes a model-based position sensorless grid-forming control strategy for remote area islanded direct-drive PMSG-based microgrids. The theorical analysis and simulation results can verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed strategy.
