Experimental Validation of a Six-Pole Half-Wave Rectified Variable Field Flux Motor

We have proposed a half-wave rectified variable field flux motor (HVFM) with a special brushless self-excitation method for the field flux. This paper experimentally validates the efficiency of a six-pole HVFM. In this study, we expand its high-efficiency drive range using variable field flux control, which is a feature of HVFM.

Abstract

We have proposed a half-wave rectified variable field flux motor (HVFM) with a special brushless self-excitation method for the field flux. This paper experimentally validates the efficiency of a six-pole HVFM. In this study, we expand its high-efficiency drive range using variable field flux control, which is a feature of HVFM.
