Fast Diagnosis of Faults with One-Phase High-Resistance Characteristics in FPPMSM
Five phase permanent magnet synchronous machine (FPPMSM) has broad application prospects in the fields of electric vehicles and aerospace, due to its good fault tolerance. In order to improve the reliability of motor operation, rapid and accurate identification and differentiation of faults are prerequisites. Both high-resistance connection faults (HRCF) and partial winding open-circuit faults (PWOCF) have single-phase high resistance characteristics, which are difficult to distinguish. A novel fast diagnostic method is proposed in this paper, where the mechanism between two types of faults are compared based on the characteristics of multiphase machine. At the same time, the short-time five-phase current information is fully utilized to reconstruct the phase currents of an electrical cycle by singular spectrum analysis. Finally, the accuracy and speed of the diagnostic method were verified by comparing the information and time used for diagnosis.
