Research on Optimization Scheduling of the Cascade Hydro-Wind-Solar-Storage Complementary System Towards Clean Energy Consumption

Under the general trend of global energy transition, the installed capacity of intermittent new energy is rising. The integrated development mode has become one of the most important forms to foster the advancement of new energy. To address the challenge of coordinated operation in cascade hydro-wind-solar-storage (HWSS) complementary systems, an optimization scheduling model and the corresponding solution method are proposed in this study, which can fully leverage the role of multi-energy complementary and enhance the absorption rate of clean energy. Firstly, a mid-long term optimization scheduling model is constructed with the goal of maximizing the clean energy consumption of the complementary system, and the efficient solution is achieved through an improved bee colony algorithm. Secondly, a nested adjustment model between mid-long and short term is proposed, realizing the effective coherence between mid-long term consumption and short-term grid connection of the complementary system with a high share of new energy. Additionally, a heuristic constraint repair strategy for hydropower station water level and a constraint repair strategy for hydropower output based on the terminal water level are introduced to meet the requirements of operation scheduling constraints. A typical clean energy base is employed to verify the model, demonstrating that the model can comprehensively optimize the operational output process of various power sources and maximize the comprehensive effectiveness of the cascade HWSS complementary system, revealing that the model and the solution method are highly applicable to multi-energy complementary scheduling issues as well.
