Optimisation of a Multi-Energy Complementary Integrated Energy System with Hydrogen-Mixed Natural Gas and Biomass Energy
Electricity-to-gas(P2G) technology plays a crucial role in integrated energy systems by addressing surplus wind and solar energy challenges and improving the integration of power grids and natural gas networks. The produced hydrogen can be combined with natural gas for long-distance transportation, helping balance energy supply and demand, and enhancing efficiency and economics. This study explores the optimal configuration of an integrated energy system involving hydrogen, natural gas, and biomass, considering the benefits of biomass power generation, such as reduced pollution and lower carbon emissions. The paper proposes a framework that utilizes an enhanced particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm to minimize total annual costs, including operations and investments. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method effectively reduces carbon emissions and annualized costs, providing valuable insights for integrated energy management.
