An Allocation Method of Distributed Energy Resources to Loads Through Demand Response Based on Curve Matching

Demand response (DR) is a low-cost and efficient regulation method widely used in energy dispatching. Currently, the DR in distribution networks mainly aims at peak shaving, without considering the impact of the spatio-temporal distribution of high proportions of distributed energy resources (DERs) on the carbon emissions of loads. Therefore, in this paper, the benefits of DERs consumptions sharing by loads in distribution networks are proposed based on curve matching. First, the distribution network's carbon emission factor for electricity and its green power ratio are evaluated before DR. Second, a method is proposed to evaluate the curve matching degree based on Dynamic Time Warping (DTW). Based on the curve matching results, a method to allocate the DERs consumptions to loads based on curve matching is proposed. Finally, a case study based on actual data from a certain regional power grid is conducted. The analysis results show an effective reduction of the loads' carbon emission factors through the allocation of the DERs production to loads with a high curve matching degree. This enhances the potential for load participation in DR and promotes the utilization of DERs.
